AIRPORT SETS NEW ALL-TIME RECORD FOR JULY ‘09
Passenger record beats July, 2007, for title of “Best Month in History”
The Quad City International Airport announced today that July, 2009, is the new “best month ever” in the history of airport enplanements or passenger boardings. July ‘09 recorded 45,773 passengers which beats July, 2007, by 286 passengers. July ‘09 traffic is up 2% compared to July ‘08. The breakdown of enplaned passengers for the month of July by carrier is as follows:
Carrier Enplanements
United Express: 12,234
Northwest Airlink: 11,648
AirTran Airways: 8,951
Delta: 7,709
American Eagle: 5,123
Bruce Carter, Director of Aviation says, “I am very pleased that our passengers have taken advantage of the low fares that have been available recently. Fares continue to be very competitive and affordable into the Fall. Typically, we do see a surge of families traveling prior to school starting in August, and the record reflects this.”
In other airport news, the changeover of Northwest and Delta has been completed and all airport signage has been changed to Delta. Delta continues to serve the Atlanta market, as well as the routes formerly served by Northwest including Detroit, Memphis, and Minneapolis-St. Paul. The Delta counter is located in the former Northwest space, and is closest to entrance #5 in the terminal. Passengers may be dropped off accordingly.
